What is an NFC business card?
An NFC business card is a reusable physical card with a small NFC chip. When a compatible phone is brought close to the programmed tap area, the phone can open a web link. That link can lead to a digital visiting card containing call, WhatsApp, website, social profile, map, portfolio or other business actions.
A QR code can be printed on the same card as a backup. This means the card can still be scanned when NFC is switched off, unavailable or inconvenient.
What should a good NFC card include?
NFC + QR backup
Two ways to reach the same business profile reduce friction across different phones and situations.
Editable destination
A managed digital profile is useful because contact details and links can change without immediately replacing the physical card.
Clear brand design
Your name, role, logo and a simple tap or scan instruction should be easy to understand at a glance.
How it works from tap to contact save
- The card is encoded with a web destination.
- The customer taps the card or scans its QR code.
- The browser opens a mobile-friendly digital profile.
- The customer chooses the action they need: call, WhatsApp, website, location, social profile or contact save.
The customer normally does not need a special Vasuki NFC app just to open a standard web-based profile. The exact experience depends on the phone and the destination configured on the card.
Which material should you choose?
| Type | Best for | Main advantage | Consideration |
|---|---|---|---|
| PVC / premium card | Daily business networking | Flexible design and familiar card feel | Choose a durable print finish |
| Metal NFC card | Premium personal branding | Strong luxury impression | NFC placement must be designed correctly for metal |
| Wooden NFC card | Distinctive natural branding | Unique texture and appearance | Natural material can vary slightly |
| QR bulk card | Teams, campaigns, handouts | Simple universal scan flow | Does not provide the tap experience unless NFC is included |
Buying checklist
Do I need an NFC card or only a digital profile?
If you meet customers in person, a physical NFC card gives you a fast tap interaction. If you mainly share links online, a digital profile alone may be enough.
Should I use NFC and QR together?
For most business cards, using both is practical. NFC creates the tap experience and QR provides a visible backup.
Can the information change later?
If the card opens an editable digital profile or redirect managed by your provider, the destination information can often be updated without changing the chip. Check the active plan and profile terms before purchase.
